Books, again.
It’s June and I just went book shopping! This is apparently turning into a defacto reading and writing blog, but these are my interests, so I’ll take it. (I should also start a defacto “16 & Pregnant and celebrities” blog, a “Shake Shack, Pizza, and Orange Milanos” blog, and an “Esoteric Foreign Films I Force My Boyfriend to Watch” blog, so that I can be fully realized online).
Back on point! I’m at 11 books and it’s the end of May. My overall goal for the year is 30 books. A lot of the books I’ve read so far are plays, but I’m saying they count, because I’ve also been reading the New Yorker so stop judging and go eat a ham sandwich over your sink.
Back on point, again! Here are the books I just bought! And some others I’ll get around to reading! Summer reading list!
· A Passage to India by E.M. Forster
· Wonder Boysby Michael Chabon
· Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2011 by Steve Coll
· The Bottom Billion by someoneIforget
· The Plot Against America by Philip Roth
· Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
· The Importance of Being Earnest (and other plays) by Oscar Wilde
I think I can get through them all by Labor Day. Of course, I’ve also got to finish a funny play I’ve started (weeeeee) and I’ve jumped into writing specs (gaaaaah) and I need to schedule time to address both my delusions of grandeur and crippling sense of self-doubt. But maybe all of this will actually speed up my reading…? Procrastination, yeah!
